When we say healthy, it does not only mean “free from the signs of diseases”, But also some more. Since our childhood we have known that “Healthy means a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being” but majority of the people are ignorant of the fact that they lack few of them and even sometimes seem to neglect the above despite knowing. These are not facts but the result of the survey done by different organizations, let’s take a look.
You will be shocked to know that, almost 95 percent of world’s total population have physical health related problems while 1 out of 8 people around the world is mentally ill. This information suggests that people are not so concerned about their physical and mental health. Both physical and mental health are equally important to be taken care of, to live a longer, happier life. Let us talk about some them in details.
Physical Health: Just because you are not affected with disease, you might think and claim yourself to be physically healthy. But that’s not the case, your physical health will be judged on the basis of your physical fitness, strength and also your sexual health. In today’s world where we are surrounded by number of technologies and busy work schedule, people don’t even bother to perform any physical activities (workouts or playing outdoor) to keep up their physical health. Children nowadays have forgotten to go out and play rather they prefer to play online games or watch TV, resulting in obesity at an early age. Mental Health: Mental health is the most neglected part of human health and the worst part is many people are not even aware of the fact that they have problems related to their mental health. You cannot see your mental illness but just because you cannot see it does not mean it’s not there in you. In the modern world, where everyone has tension regarding career, relationships, family problems and job. Nowadays stress, anxiety, depression, overthinking and even lack of sleep is common in youths. These mental illnesses could be more fatal if not taken care of, sometimes people facing the above takes worst decisions which ends up taking their lives. So, it’s better to take a few simple steps to keep yourself mentally healthy.
Activities which might help for maintaining a good mental health:
